In late August 2026, FINU Germany was represented at the Damascus International Fair in Damascus. For our young association, participating in the fair was an important step toward putting our international aspirations into practice.
Together with the Academy for Intercultural Education and Social Affairs in Erfurt, we were able to engage in discussions on-site with representatives from the business community, institutions, and international organizations, establish new contacts, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
Our focus was not limited to Syria alone. This participation exemplifies a core approach of FINU: We want to leverage our members’ international networks and market knowledge to establish new economic ties between Germany and international markets.
Many of our members are not only familiar with the German economic landscape but also have personal and business networks in other countries. We see this as an opportunity that we, as an association, want to systematically bring together.
Building Bridges Between Markets
International economic relations rely above all on trust, connections, and knowledge of the respective markets. This is precisely where FINU can play a special role.
We aim to support German companies in establishing contacts and gaining access to international markets. At the same time, we want to help female entrepreneurs and investors from abroad get to know Germany as a business location and find the right contacts here.
The discussions in Damascus were an important first step in this direction. We are now holding in-depth discussions with several of these contacts to further develop potential collaborations and shared economic interests.
For FINU, internationalization therefore means more than just talking about global networks. We want to activate these networks, connect people, and foster concrete economic cooperation as a result.
The Damascus International Fair was a starting point for us. Further international contacts, collaborations, and delegations are set to follow.
